To check git is installed or not:

git --version

If not installed, get it from https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Getting-Started-Installing-Git

Note: Create a folder locally, open cmd -> /path_to_folder

To make a repo locally —

git init

It’ll generate a hidden file named .git
